Shareware battle royale will continue to receive seasonal updates instead of weekly updates for the foreseeable future. Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella spoke about this.
Speaking to Gamasutra, Zampella confirmed that the team has always intended to release updates on a seasonal basis, and will continue to stick to that plan, mainly for the sake of providing a quality experience.
“We've always stuck to seasonal updates, so we're kind of sticking with that. There was a thought: ″Hey, we have something explosive, do we want to try to release more content?″. But I think it's important to look at the quality of life of the team. We don't want to overload the team and lower the quality of the assets we release. We want to try to lift it,” Zampella said.

Employees of the company work from 60 to 100 hours a week in order to have time to release updates for the royal battle on time.
