Apple recently updated its most affordable laptops
A well-known source of leaks with the alias _rogame found references to the Intel Core processors of the Ice Lake-U family (10.15.5W) in the first beta version of macOS 15. Recall that the new MacBook Air uses Ice Lake-Y series chips with lower power consumption (10W). Therefore, the conclusion suggests itself that the more powerful Ice Lake-U will find application in more advanced Apple laptops, namely the compact MacBook Pro.
macOS mentions Core i5-1035G4, Core i5-1035G7, and Core i7-1065G7 processors. Each of them has four cores and eight threads. In the first, the Iris Plus integrated graphics are endowed with 48 execution units, while the other two use a full-fledged "embedded" with 64 units. The source also suggests that advanced modifications of the MacBook Pro can also receive the flagship Core i7-1068G7 with a TDP level increased to 28 W.
Note that the MacBook Air uses special versions of the Ice Lake-Y processors that have slightly different specifications from the public versions, and therefore have the letter "N" in their names, for example, Core i7-1060NG7. Perhaps the MacBook Pro will also use special versions of Ice Lake-U.
It is assumed that Apple will introduce an updated compact MacBook Pro as early as next month. According to rumors, in addition to more productive hardware, the novelty will receive a new fixed keyboard and, possibly, a 14-inch Mini-LED screen.
