Apple may include a USB Type-C charger and Lightning cable in the iPhone box

Rumors and speculation continue to appear on the Internet about what interface Apple will equip the new iPhones with. After the USB Type-C connector appeared in the new MacBook and iPad Pro, we can assume that some changes will affect the iPhone, which will be presented in the fall. According to online sources, new iPhone models will not receive a USB Type-C interface. However, the package may include an 18 W charger, as well as a cable with Lightning and USB Type-C connectors.

This approach makes sense if Apple is not ready to give up the familiar interface, but wants to speed up the charging process for new smartphones. For a long time, the company supplied a standard 5W charger with the iPhone. Perhaps this year the situation will change and new smartphones will receive more powerful charging.

Let's remember that last year Apple equipped the iPad Pro tablets with a USB Type-C interface, which led to the appearance of a faster 18 W charger. To use this charger to replenish energy, iPhone must purchase it separately, as well as a special adapter from Lightning to USB Type-C. Providing such a charger with new iPhones will allow Apple to continue using the Lightning interface, and will also facilitate the transition to USB Type-C in the future. In addition, users will be able to connect their smartphone to a MacBook without having to buy an additional adapter.
