Apple overtakes Samsung in US smartphone sales

For a long time, Samsung has been the world leader in the supply of smartphones. Based on the results of last year, the South Korean giant continues to maintain its position in this direction. On a global scale, the situation remains the same, but in the United States there are changes that were identified by specialists from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners. Their research showed that the first quarter was successful for Apple, since the company managed to surpass Samsung in sales in the American market.

Statistics show that the iPhone's share in the US is 36% of the market, while Samsung's presence is only 34%. Thus, iPhone smartphones are the best-selling smartphones in the United States. In third and fourth places are LG and Motorola (11% and 10% respectively).

CIRP experts say that usually the first position in the direction of smartphone sales in the US remains with Samsung, whose market presence ranges from 30% to 39%. Changes in indicators are usually strongly influenced by the launch period of new devices. Approximately the same situation is observed with Apple sales, whose share varies from 29% to 40%. Analysts note that the most noteworthy is the growth in demand for Motorola products, which is catching up with LG and could soon become one of the top three suppliers.

The ongoing trade war between the US and China, as well as several other factors, has caused global iPhone sales to decline slightly. Despite this, the company's mobile business in the US looks good. Analysts note an increase in revenue from iPhone sales at 5% compared to the same period in 2018. Due to this, the company managed to compensate for the decline that was evident in the markets of other countries.
