Apple denies allegations of market dominance and anti-competitive behavior

Apple, whose key business segments have been the target of several EU antitrust investigations, has denied allegations of market dominance, saying it competes with Google, Samsung and others. This was announced at a speech at the Forum Europe conference by the head of the Apple App Store and Apple Media Services, Daniel Matray.

Apple denies allegations of market dominance and anti-competitive behavior

β€œWe compete with a wide variety of companies such as Google, Samsung, Huawei, Vivo, LG, Lenovo and many others. In fact, Apple does not dominate any market, and we face strong competition in all categories - tablets, wearables, desktops and laptops, cards, music, payments, messaging and more," said Mr. Matrey.

Recall that this month the European Commission launched several investigations to find out if Apple violates competition rules. Currently, the antimonopoly agency is studying the activities of the App Store digital content store and the Apple Pay payment system.

During the keynote, Matrei noted that the same rules apply to developers large and small, and 85% of apps don't have to pay the 30% fee, as this only applies to products that use Apple's proprietary payment service.
