Apple has removed all vaping-related apps from the App Store, citing warnings from health experts that the proliferation of vaping products and e-cigarettes is leading to a "public health crisis and youth epidemic."
"(We) have updated our App Store submission guidelines to recognize that apps that encourage or facilitate the use of these products are not allowed," Apple said in a press statement. βAs of today, these apps are no longer available for download.β
The Cupertino-based company stopped hosting new vaping apps in June and has never allowed the sale of electronic smoking devices and vape cartridges on its platform.
A total of 181 apps have been removed from the App Store, including games and related apps that allow users to adjust the temperature or light on vaping devices, view news about it, or find the location of the nearest store selling these products.
