But there is a solution - the new AppStreamer platform, which application to the cloud, allowing you to run it remotely and, in fact, broadcasting it from a cloud server. The novelty was created at Purdue University in the USA.
“It's like Netflix movies that aren't actually stored on your computer, but streamed to you as you watch them,” said Professor Saurabh Bagchi. At the same time, testing showed that the size of popular Android games is reduced by 85%, and most of the test participants did not feel any difference compared to running games from the smartphone's memory.
The developers claim that the application predicts when to start downloading the data of a particular program, which minimizes the time lag. At the same time, the cloud platform can work not only with games.
It's too early to talk about the release or at least an early version of AppStreamer. At the moment, this is only a study, not a commercial product. However, in the future, when 5G networks become widespread, it may be released.
