Is Ark OS the new Android alternative name for Huawei smartphones?

As we already know, Huawei is developing its own operating system for smartphones, which can become an alternative to Android in the event that the use of the Google mobile platform becomes impossible for the company due to US sanctions. According to preliminary data, Huawei's new software development is called Hongmeng, which is quite harmonious for the Chinese market. But for the conquest of Europe, such a name, to put it mildly, is not suitable. Therefore, most likely, marketers from the Celestial Empire have already come up with something more international and shorter - for example, Ark OS.

Is Ark OS the new Android alternative name for Huawei smartphones?

Note that Ark OS is not someone's fantasy about what the Huawei operating system might be called, but a trademark that the Chinese manufacturer filed with the European Intellectual Property Office at the end of last week. As follows from the document, the company wants to obtain the rights to the following four titles - Huawei Ark OS, Huawei Ark, Ark and Ark OS. There is no direct indication of which product they refer to in the application, but for a software platform, this option looks more commercially acceptable than Hongmeng.

Earlier on the Internet, there was a rumor that the official announcement of Hongmeng (that is, possibly Ark OS) will take place on June 24 of this year. However, an unnamed Huawei spokesperson later denied this information. As we already Reported Previously, the company has been developing its own OS since 2012. Presumably, it will be compatible with both mobile devices and desktop PCs.
