ASRock introduced a very unusual motherboard called the A320TM-ITX, which is made in the not-so-common Thin Mini-ITX form factor. The uniqueness of the novelty lies in the fact that earlier there were simply no similar motherboards for AMD processors in the Socket AM4 version.
Motherboards of the Thin Mini-ITX size are distinguished not only by their small length and width (170 × 170 mm), but also by the minimum height of parts - about 2 cm. This allows them to be used in fairly thin and compact cases. Although in general, such boards can be used in any computer case designed for Mini-ITX boards. Also note that the Thin Mini-ITX boards, including the new ASRock, require the connection of an external or internal 19 V power supply.
As the name suggests, the ASRock A320TM-ITX board is based on the AMD A320 system logic. The novelty is designed to create systems based on AMD Socket AM4 hybrid processors, that is, Raven Ridge and Bristol Ridge generations. Why can't you use a regular Ryzen processor in the new product? The thing is that it does not have a PCI Express slot, and the connection of a discrete video card for displaying an image is not provided. A set of video outputs includes a pair of HDMI 1.4 and one LVDS.
The new board also has a pair of slots for DDR4 SO-DIMM memory modules, which are oriented horizontally (like in laptops). The maximum supported RAM is 32 GB. Declared support for memory with a frequency of up to 2933 MHz. For storage devices, there is one SATA III port and an M.2 Key M slot. There is also an M.2 Key E slot for connecting a Wi-Fi module and Bluetooth. The Realtek RTL8111 gigabit controller is responsible for network connections. The sound subsystem is based on the Realtek ALC233 codec.
Unfortunately, the cost, as well as the start date of sales of the ASRock A320TM-ITX motherboard has not yet been specified.
