ASRock Unveils Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 5700 Series Graphics Cards

Judging by early publications, ASRock, when developing its Radeon RX 5700 series video cards, relied on a cooling system with three fans, while only the middle one is equipped with RGB backlighting. This week the brand's range of graphics cards was expanded to include Radeon RX 5700 XT ΠΈ Radeon RX 5700 family of Phantom Gaming, during the creation of which special attention was paid to the efficiency of the cooling system.

In a specific version, these video cards are designated OC, which indicates increased operating frequencies. Thus, the Radeon RX 5700 XT in this series operates at frequencies up to 1945/14000 MHz, and the Radeon RX 5700 at frequencies up to 1750/14000 MHz. The GPU has three frequency profiles: Base, Game and Boost, which are arranged in ascending order. Both video cards are equipped with two eight-pin additional power connectors; the power of the recommended power supply reaches 600 W. The overall dimensions of the video cards are 287 x 127 x 53 mm. In fact, the manufacturer claims that they occupy the space of 2,7 expansion slots - in real conditions, this means that three expansion slots need to be allocated for the video card. The PCI Express 4.0 interface is supported, but on motherboards that only support PCI Express 3.0, these video cards also work without any complications.

At the base of the massive heatsink is a copper base, from which five heat pipes extend. The ARGB lighting is synchronized with ASRock's proprietary Polychrome SYNC control system. Like many modern video cards, ASRock's new products are able to stop the fans from spinning under light computing loads, operating completely silently. As soon as the temperature of critical components exceeds a preset level, the fans start automatically. Advanced settings management is provided through the interface of the proprietary ASRock Tweak utility.

On the rear panel of the video cards there are three DisplayPort 1.4 outputs with support for DSC 1.2a and one HDMI 2.0b port. The reverse side of the printed video card is equipped with a metal reinforcing plate. The GDDR6 memory capacity of each video card is 8 GB, a 256-bit bus is used. Tellingly, on the product description page, ASRock mentions the use of second-generation 7nm AMD GPUs, clearly not forgetting the existence of its predecessor in the form of Radeon VII. ASRock brand video cards are also offered in Russian retail, so domestic buyers will soon encounter the new products described above.
