ASUS and Google to preinstall Stadia client on ROG Phone 3

Google's cloud gaming service Stadia received a lot of negative attention at launch. This is mainly due to the lack of declared features, which made the service more like a beta version than a finished product. Since then, Google has constantly updated the platform, improving it month after month.

Not surprisingly, Google, wanting to gain an edge, has partnered with ASUS, maker of the popular ROG gaming phones. According to ASUS, the partnership will run until 2021, with the Stadia client pre-installed on every ROG phone in participating territories. The list currently includes 14 countries: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, USA.

It's not clear when to expect ASUS' next generation ROG Phone to launch, but it should be out before the end of 2020. Until then, gamers can still purchase the ASUS ROG Phone II, which now supports Stadia, in which case the client simply needs to be installed from Google Play.
