ASUS releases Android 10 firmware for Zenfone Max M1, Lite and Live L1 and L2

ASUS is trying to update its current range of smartphones to Android 10, and one way to do this is to release a firmware version for them based on the AOSP reference build. Just over a week ago it was reported that Zenfone 5 received Android 10 beta update based on AOSP, and now four more ASUS phones are undergoing a similar procedure.

A Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has released beta versions of Android 10 firmware based on the AOSP reference build for devices such as Zenfone Max M1, Zenfone Lite and Zenfone Live L1 (this is essentially one phone, produced under different names for different regions) and Zenfone Live L2. All of the mentioned smartphones are entry-level, use Snapdragon 425 or Snapdragon 430 single-chip systems and were originally released with Android 8.0 Oreo or Android 8.0 Oreo Go Edition on board.

It's good to see that ASUS is not forgetting about its basic devices and is committed to updating them to Android 10, albeit ahead of the release of Android 11. As with the Zenfone 5, those wanting to download these beta updates will need to back up their data first.

The update size exceeds 1,5 GB, and the description says that in addition to new features, the firmware also includes security fixes. Additionally, before downloading the update, you should confirm the firmware version that the target device is currently running.
