The Volkswagen Group is accelerating its transformation process with the aim of increasing profits and more efficiently implementing projects to bring new generation automotive platforms to the market.

It is reported that between 2023 and 5000 jobs will be cut in the period up to 7000. Volkswagen, in particular, has no plans to hire new employees to replace those who are retiring.

The German giant intends to compensate for the reduction in the number of personnel through the introduction of advanced automation systems that will help in performing routine operations.

At the same time, about 2000 new jobs will be created in the technical department for specialists who will be involved in electronic architectures and software.

One of the main goals of Volkswagen is the electrification of the model range. In particular, we are talking about a modular electric drive platform (MEB), which allows you to design electric vehicles of various classes - from compact urban models to crossovers.

By the end of 2022, the brands of the Volkswagen concern expect to present around three dozen different models based on the MEB worldwide. Within ten, Volkswagen plans to produce more than 10 million vehicles on this platform.
