In the cab of the truck was a belay driver, ready to take over if needed, and a safety engineer to oversee the systems.

β€œWe wanted to demonstrate the safety, reliability and maturity of our (self-driving) system,” said Shawn Kerrigan, co-founder and chief operating officer of the company. According to him, the company's autonomous driving system, which uses cameras, radar and lidar, copes well with driving on roads with different terrain in different weather conditions, including rain and poor visibility.

According to him, during the trip there was not a single case of spontaneous shutdown of the autonomous driving system or its suspension due to problems.
