The authors of BioShock Infinite are developing a game in the genre of immersive sim

In 2014, the development studio Irrational Games, which released System Shock 2, BioShock and BioShock Infinite, was restructured and significantly reduced. The handful remaining, including creative director Kevin Levine, in 2017 founded Ghost Story Games as a new brand for a former workplace. The studio is working on a small project, but is in no hurry to share its details.

However, some information has leaked thanks to a new job listing. According to him, Ghost Story Games develops "a creatively ambitious project in the genre immersive sim" In 2015, Levine stated that the team was creating a sci-fi game. But since then, however, everything could have changed several times. Ghost Story Games is a small studio - in 2017 it consisted of 25 employees, and now it still has less than 40 people.

It's not easy to name all the games in the immersive sim genre. It includes projects such as System Shock and Thief from Looking Glass Studios, as well as Dishonored and Prey from Arkane Studios. The elements and formal boundaries of the genre are not fixed, and many games that are not necessarily considered immersive sim borrow its ideas.
