The developers from the studio 11 bit have published a 12-minute video dedicated to The Last Autumn addition to the city-building simulator . DLC, which will tell the backstory of the main game, will be released on January 21 on PC. The developers also showed the first official Frostpunk cosplay.
Frostpunk takes place in a frozen world where survivors build the last city on Earth using steam engines. Supplement will tell about the reasons for the onset of eternal winter. At that time, people were not yet sure that this would happen, but in the event of a cataclysm, the government conducted secret developments. Frostpunk lead designer Jakub Stokalski noted that the DLC will not only allow others to see the world - with trees and grass instead of snow and ice - but will also offer updated gameplay with additional mechanics and features.
In addition to the new scenario, the add-on will add new types of buildings, new codes of laws, a production safety system and steam-powered technologies to the game. The main task is to build a huge steam generator that will help people survive after the onset of cold weather. Resources for its creation will be supplied by sea, while in the main game they were collected in the vicinity of the city. The player will face new challenges such as strikes by workers who are dissatisfied with working conditions, and the actions of radical activists who oppose certain political decisions. In each situation, it is allowed to act differently: for example, in the case of strikes, you can offer workers a bonus or improve the quality of their food.
In honor of the upcoming release of the add-on, the developers presented the official cosplay of one of the characters - engineer Effie MacLachlan, which could be seen in "Last Autumn" Her role was played by Moosefix, who reincarnated as Brigitte from .
