More than two years ago, a bug report was opened in Gnome GitLab that scrolling in GTK applications using the touchpad was too fast or too sensitive. 43 people participated in the discussion.
GTK+'s maintainer, Matthias Klasen, initially claimed he didn't see the problem. The comments were mainly on the topic “how it works”, “how it works in other operating systems”, “how to measure it objectively”, “do I need settings” and “what can be changed”. However, there were too many of them, so many that the bug report, according to the maintainer, lost its purpose as a bug report and turned into a forum for discussion. In this regard, the bug report was closed without any changes in the code.
