Japanese publishing house Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced the creation of a new company with the speaking name Bandai Namco Mobile. This division of Bandai Namco Group will focus on the development of the mobile business within the Network Entertainment Unit - it will combine the development and marketing of game projects for mobile platforms outside the Asian market.
Bandai Namco Mobile will be based in Barcelona and will allow more flexibility and productivity in the creation and promotion of mobile games for Western audiences. βIt was not difficult to choose Barcelona,β said Tatsuya Kubota, COO of the future company. "This city is not only one of the most beautiful in the world, but is also an international hub for game development and home to some of the most talented developers in the mobile industry."
Bandai Namco Western Chief Executive Naoki Katashima explained the decision: βCreating a separate company for all of our Western mobile development and marketing will allow us to better respond to market trends and create better content in a shorter time as part of our long-term business planning. We hope that the public will enjoy the new entertainment products.β
Bandai Namco Mobile will be fully operational in early 2020, and recruitment for the new company will begin in the coming months.
