Barnes & Noble launches 7,8-inch Nook Glowlight Plus reader

The Nook Glowlight Plus has the largest E-Ink screen among Barnes & Noble readers with a diagonal of 7,8 inches. For comparison, the Nook Glowlight 3, released in 2017, has a 6-inch screen, although it costs much less - $120.

The new device also has more memory than its predecessor, which debuted in 2015. The capacity of the flash drive is 8 GB. Like all members of the Nook Glowlight series, the new reader has a waterproof design and a backlit screen for night-time reading with the ability to adjust the light intensity. Users will be able to choose between a cool white light or a warmer, orange hue.

The NOOK GlowLight Plus has a soft-touch finish that's comfortable to hold for long periods of time.

Physical buttons for turning pages of e-books are located on both sides of the case for using the reader with the right or left hand. The battery capacity is sufficient for several weeks of operation of the device without recharging.

The new product will be available for purchase in stores in the United States starting Monday, May 27. The reader will be available for purchase at the Barnes & Noble online store starting Wednesday, May 29. The Nook Glowlight Plus costs $199,99.
