Unmanned electric truck Einride T-Pod began to be used for the transport of goods

Network sources report that the Swedish company Einride has begun testing its own all-electric truck on public roads. It is assumed that the test car Einride T-Pod will last for a year. As part of this project, a 26-ton truck will be used daily to deliver various cargoes. It is worth noting that the vehicle in question operates completely autonomously, using the fifth generation (5G) communication network for this. The design of the car does not provide for a cab in which the driver could be insuring the truck during test runs.

Every day, the T-Pod truck will run between the warehouse and the terminal, approximately 300m apart. Despite the fact that the T-Pod is capable of speeds up to 85 km/h, the Swedish Transport Agency has allowed the car to be used at speeds up to 5 km/h.

Einride CEO Robert Falck is confident that the road permit is the first step in getting large transport companies to use autonomous trucks. He also announced the company's intention to obtain more relocation permits with the possibility of further expansion in the US. According to Falk, the American automotive market is a benchmark, so the company intends to try to gain a foothold in it in the future.
