Bethesda Softworks has announced that it has no plans to hold a digital announcement event this summer instead.
E3 2020 was canceled last month due to growing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, but organizers the Entertainment Software Association said they were working with game companies to launch online versions of the annual press conferences. However, Bethesda Softworks Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications Pete Hines announced on Twitter that his team would not be joining them.
βGiven the many challenges we are facing due to the pandemic, we will not be holding a digital show in June,β
If the show had taken place, Bethesda Softworks would likely have revealed more information about Arkane Studios' Deathloop or Tango Gameworks' GhostWire: Tokyo. In addition, fans were hoping for news about The Elder Scrolls VI and the sci-fi role-playing game Starfield.
