Austrian Denuvo DRM protection does not pose a serious problem for hackers even in the latest versions. Most games are released from it a few days or even hours after the premiere. The shooter RAGE 14, released on May 2, the presence of this system in which it became known shortly before release, also managed to quickly get rid of it. However, the case turned out to be atypical: due to an alleged error by Bethesda Softworks, the hackers practically did not have to do anything themselves.
Initially, there was no warning about the presence of Denuvo on the RAGE 2 Steam page and in the text of the user agreement. However, journalists who gained access to the shooter before release suggested that it was still being used. Employees
At the same time, players noticed a smaller executable file size and shorter download times in the version for the Bethesda.net store. Indeed, as it turned out, this option was deprived of Denuvo - most likely due to a mistake by the publisher. As you know, all protection options are different from each other, and there is no universal way to rid all games of it. But in this case, the hackers did not have to study a new variation of the code at all - the βcleanβ file made it possible to very quickly create a pirated version. Perhaps Bethesda will decide to abandon this system altogether in RAGE 2, since now it is useless at best.
RAGE 2 became the second game of 2019 to be released from Denuvo on its release day (protection was removed from Devil May Cry 5 around the same time). IN
However, some games are still resistant to hackers. Among them are both last year's ones - for example, Burnout Paradise Remastered - and those released recently, such as Anno 1800 and
Denuvo's presence has already been confirmed in Total War: Three Kingdoms, Conan Unconquered, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and several other upcoming games.
