Several sources immediately reported that the South Korean company Samsung may soon announce an “off-road” smartphone Galaxy Xcover 5.
In particular, as noted, the new product has been submitted for certification by the Wi-Fi Alliance. The device appears under the code designation SM-G398F. For comparison: the Galaxy Xcover 4 model has the code SM-G389F.
In addition, a Samsung smartphone with the code SM-G398FN was spotted in the Geekbench benchmark database, revealing some of the technical characteristics of the device. Thus, it is said that the proprietary Exynos 7885 processor is used. This chip has eight computing cores with a clock frequency of up to 2,2 GHz and a Mali-G71 MP2 graphics accelerator.
According to the Geekbench test, the Galaxy Xcover 5 smartphone has 3 GB of RAM on board. The Android 9.0 Pie operating system is used as the software platform.
Earlier, the WinFuture.de resource published an alleged “live” photo of the Galaxy Xcover 5 smartphone (in the first illustration). All this suggests that the official presentation of the device may take place in the current quarter.
