Blood: Fresh Supply Coming to Linux

Blood: Fresh Supply Coming to Linux

One of the classic games that hitherto had neither official nor artisanal versions for modern systems (with the exception of adaptations for the eduke32 engine, as well as ports in Java (sic!) from the same Russian developer), remained B, a popular first-person shooter.

And here's Nightdive Studios, famous "updated" versions of many other old games, some of which had Linux versions, announced that Linux users will soon have the opportunity to run this development natively, however, the exact release date is not indicated.

The company claims the following features:

  • Uses own engine KEX Engine
  • Rendering via Vulkan, DirectX 11, or OpenGL 3.2
  • Antialiasing, Ambient Occlusion, Interpolation and V-sync
  • Support for high resolutions, including 4K monitors
  • Fully customizable gamepad controls
  • Possibility of custom modifications, incl. support for existing
  • Completely redesigned online game for up to 8 players
  • Multiplayer game modes: co-op, normal all against all, and capture the flag
  • Ability to play together on one monitor
  • Implemented playback of both CD and MIDI music formats
  • Choice of an "honest" review in three dimensions, or a review option from the original BUILD engine
