In messages, users complain that their devices go into an endless reboot loop after being turned on. Some report devices turning off suddenly, as well as an incorrect response to pressing buttons on the control panel. Resetting to factory settings does not fix the problem. Devices become unusable.

As the Digital Trends portal points out, the above problems are not just found in a particular model of a Blu-ray player from the South Korean giant. Incorrect operation is observed in models BD-JM57C, BD-J5900, HT-J5500W, as well as other Samsung Blu-ray players.

The manufacturer is aware of the problem. Samsung support representatives on the official forum informed users that the company is investigating the issue. To date, the topic has already collected more than a hundred pages of owner complaints.

According to some experts, the problem may be related to an outdated SSL certificate that is used to connect the players to Samsung servers. In the past, many large companies have experienced major outages due to certificate expiration, including Facebook, Microsoft, Roku, Ericsson, and Mozilla.
