Borderlands 3 won't be getting a preload feature on the Epic Games Store. This was announced on Twitter by the head of Epic Tim Sweeney (Tim Sweeney).
In response to a question from a fan, Sweeney that the store already has a preload function, but it is only available for some projects. He noted that he was not sure about the need to add it to "blockbusters like Borderlands 3." He did not give specific reasons.
This caused a new wave of discontent among Sweeney's subscribers. One of the users releases of Borderlands 2 on Steam (in 2012) and Borderlands 3 on the Epic Games Store. When released on Steam, the game received achievements, the ability to play on Linux and preload, while all the features described are not in EGS.
Borderlands 3 is scheduled to release on September 13, 2019. The game will be released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The PC version will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for six months.
