Future iPhones will be able to use the entire screen for fingerprint scanning

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted Apple a number of patents for biometric identification for mobile devices.

Future iPhones will be able to use the entire screen for fingerprint scanning

We are talking about a new fingerprint scanning system. As you can see in the images, its “apple” empire intends to use it in iPhone smartphones instead of the usual Touch ID sensor.

The proposed solution involves the use of special electro-acoustic transducers, which cause the front panel of the device to vibrate in a special way. Due to this, almost the entire front surface of the smartphone will be able to perform the functions of a fingerprint scanner.

Thus, Apple will be able to equip new iPhone models with a completely frameless display - leaving space under the screen for the traditional Touch ID sensor is no longer required.

Patent applications were filed by the "apple" empire back in September 2016, and the development was registered on April 30 this year. About when Apple plans to use the new technology in commercial devices, while nothing is reported.
