The Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation organized competitions for connecting socially significant facilities to high-speed Internet in the first 14 regions.
We are talking about connecting schools, institutions of secondary vocational education, feldsher and obstetric stations, state authorities and local governments, divisions of the Russian Guard, election commissions, police stations and fire departments to the Network.
The speed of Internet access will depend on the type of activity of the connected object. Thus, for educational organizations it will be 100 Mbps in cities and 50 Mbps in villages, and for election commissions - 90 Mbps. For most other objects, a speed of at least 10 Mbps is provided.
Thanks to the implementation of this large-scale project, high-speed Internet will come to many settlements where it did not exist before, including households. In addition, the demand for the products of Russian manufacturers of fiber-optic cables and telecom equipment will increase - according to the conditions of the competitions, they must be domestic.
Tenders have been announced for connecting facilities in the Vladimir, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kostroma, Lipetsk, Murmansk, Pskov and Tomsk regions, in the republics of Adygea, Altai, Ingushetia, Kalmykia and Karelia, as well as in the Kamchatka Territory.
