The attackers took advantage of this, they hacked the accounts of inactive users, and then renewed the subscription in their personal account for further resale of the account on eBay.

Netflix said that user safety is a priority of the service, and added that they can completely delete bank card data at the user's personal request. Representatives of eBay said that they will remove all advertisements for the sale of subscriptions.
