Call of Duty: Modern Warfare makes Activision $600 million in first three days of release

Activision uncovered financial results of the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. In the first three days of sales, the project brought developers over $600 million, becoming the best-selling game in the series.

According to the publisher, the shooter set several more records. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare had the most successful digital launch of any Activision project, became the publisher's most successful digital game of any PlayStation 4 title, and had the best PC launch in the franchise's history.

“In the first three days, Modern Warfare had more players than any other entry in the series. More importantly, our players are having a great time playing the game. Congratulations to Infinity Ward and the other staff involved in making the game and launching it. And of course, we want to thank the community. Modern Warfare is just the beginning,” said Activision President Rob Kostich.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was released on October 25, 2019 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Project got positive reviews from critics and scored 83 points on the Metacritic portal, and Users the project was criticized for Russophobia and accused of propaganda. The game received 788 positive reviews and 1767 negative ratings.

In Russia, the shooter is only available on Xbox One and PC, Sony refused releasing a project on PS4 without explanation.
