Canon has introduced the RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM, its first RF mount super telephoto lens. It's not the fastest lens in the family, but it's certainly the most suitable for sports and wildlife photography. An optical stabilization system helps reduce shake by up to five stops, and there are three IS modes to choose from: standard, panning, or active during exposure.
Optically, the lens consists of 20 elements in 14 groups. Six elements - UD (ultra low dispersion), one - Super UD. These elements help reduce chromatic aberration. Two groups of focusing lenses are driven by a Nano USM motor for fast, quiet autofocusing. The lens expands while zooming. Canon claims that even with the extension, the lens is well protected from dust and moisture.
Nine 100-500mm RF aperture blades help create round bokeh highlights. The lens is compatible with 77mm filters and weighs a rather impressive 1365 grams. Model compatible with
