Canoo, aspiring to be the "Netflix of cars" by offering the world's first subscription-only electric car, has unveiled a futuristic concept for its debut model.
The Canoo car offers passengers a fairly roomy cabin that can accommodate seven people. The rear seats look comfortable and stylish, more like a sofa than a traditional car seat. It is reported that any passenger in the car will be able to control navigation, music and heating from a smartphone or tablet.
The vehicle is equipped with advanced steering assistance systems using a total of seven cameras, five radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors. The vehicle's battery provides a range of 250 miles (402 km). It takes less than 80 minutes to charge it to 30% capacity.
Car subscription services, which provide the ability to use various models by paying a monthly fee, are becoming more common. In particular, major automakers Toyota, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have come to grips with this area.
As for the prospects for Canoo's electric car, it should be noted that it is incredibly difficult for new companies to launch car production on a large scale due to market saturation.
