The device itself is somewhat reminiscent of the plant growing shelves from sci-fi movies. It is unlikely that greens grown in this way will be a cheap pleasure - rather, this can be considered entertainment. Uses advanced lighting, temperature and irrigation controls. It provides for the use of special packages with seeds and allows you to track the growth of plants using a special application. In general, such a cultivator is designed to help users grow nutrient-rich and fragrant greens in their own apartments without any hassle.

Using flexible modules, the instrument reproduces optimal outdoor conditions by accurately changing the temperature inside the insulated cabinet according to the time of day. LED lights, forced air circulation and drip water management allow seeds to quickly turn into ingredients for delicious recipes and dishes. According to the company, the advanced gardening system is capable of holding up to 24 special packages of all-in-one seeds (apparently purchased from LG), enough for a family of four to enjoy healthy meals and culinary delights from a wide range of homemade products. . The all-in-one packages include, in addition to seeds, also peat moss and fertilizers. Initially, 20 different herbs will be offered, including romaine and other types of lettuce, arugula, chicory and basil.

A key component of the automated gardening solution is LG's technology, which evenly distributes the exact amount of water required by plants without moisture circulation. It also prevents bad odors, providing a clean and hygienic environment where safe, natural herbs and leafy vegetables can grow. A companion smartphone app helps users manage and control their plants, offering helpful tips at every step to ensure a successful harvest.

LG's first home gardening cultivator will be on display at CES 2020 from January 7-10 at booth #11100 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. There is no word yet on when it will hit the market. By the way, a year ago at CES 2019, LG presented the HomeBrew machine, which allows you to easily brew craft beer at home and also provides for the use of disposable capsules.
