Against the backdrop of the coronavirus epidemic that has spread around the world, a lot of unreliable information related to a dangerous disease and distributed on social networks, instant messengers and various web resources appears on the Internet. WHO WhatsApp chatbot to provide reliable information on coronavirus

WhatsApp developers, together with WHO, have launched a chatbot that provides answers to various questions from users of the messenger, providing reliable and verified information about the coronavirus. To start interacting with the bot, you need to add the number +41 79 893 18 92 to your contact list, after which you need to start a WhatsApp chat by sending a message to this contact. After receiving the first message, the bot will send a few hints in response that will explain the principle of interaction with it. The launch of the chatbot was the next step of WhatsApp aimed at combating misinformation regarding the coronavirus, distributed among users of the messenger.

WhatsApp, along with WHO, UNICEF and the United Nations, has also opened a coronavirus fact-checking center. Thus, all the facts and news presented by the WhatsApp chatbot will be promptly checked for accuracy and correspondence to reality. In addition, WhatsApp is donating $1 million to support coronavirus fact-checking organizations.

According to online sources, the UK National Health Service is also thinking about creating its own chat bot for WhatsApp, which will allow users to receive reliable information about the spread of the epidemic, the latest news and effective ways to protect themselves from infection.
