The China State Intellectual Property Office (CNIPA) has become a source of information about a new flexible smartphone, which in the future may appear in the Xiaomi range.
As shown in the patent images, Xiaomi is thinking about a double-folding flexible screen machine. When folded, the two sections of the display will be in the back, as if wrapping the device.
By opening the gadget, the user will have at their disposal a mini-tablet with a single touch area. The illustrations indicate the presence of fairly wide frames around the screen.
When unfolded, on the left side of the case there will be a quadruple camera with optical elements lined up vertically. By folding this section of the device, the owner will be able to use the camera as a rear.
It is curious that the device on the sketches does not have a single visible connector. The fingerprint scanner can be integrated directly into the flexible screen area.
Whether Xiaomi is going to implement the proposed design in hardware is not yet clear: now the development exists only on paper.
