The number of attacks on organizations in the online space in Russia continues to grow. As reported by RBC, the management of the Center for Monitoring and Response to Cyberattacks Solar JSOC of Rostelecom spoke about this.
According to published data, between January 2018 and January 2019, more than 765 thousand complex attacks in cyberspace were recorded in our country. And in the period from October last year to October this year, this figure amounted to more than 995 thousand.
Most often, attackers attack Moscow companies and organizations, including government agencies. According to Solar JSOC experts, the capital region accounts for about 40% of all cyber attacks.
In other words, four out of ten cyber attacks in our country are aimed at the infrastructure of Moscow organizations. This picture is explained by the fact that a large number of well-known companies and government agencies are concentrated in the capital. In addition, many large data centers are located here.
Experts predict that by the end of 2019, the number of complex cyber attacks in our country will exceed 1 million. Thus, the growth compared to last year will be at the level of 30β35 percent.
