Chieftec has unveiled its 80 PLUS Gold certified Core power supply family and should start shipping soon.
The series includes three models - BBS-500S, BBS-600S and BBS-700S. Their power is reflected in the designation - 500 W, 600 W and 700 W, respectively.
New items boast relatively small dimensions of 140 Γ 150 Γ 86 mm. Thus, power supplies can be used in computer cases with limited internal space.
The cooling system uses a 120 mm fan, which is characterized by a low level of noise produced. It must be emphasized that a modular cable system is not provided.
In terms of safety features, OVP (Over Voltage Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection) and OPP (Over Power Protection) systems are mentioned.
The price of new products is not specified. But the developer claims that the power supplies will offer one of the best combinations of cost and feature set in its class. In addition, it speaks of high reliability. Chieftec will provide solutions with a two-year warranty.
