β€œHigh-ranking UN officials have been instructed not to use the WhatsApp messenger because it is not secure,” UN spokesman Farhan Haq said when asked if UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres uses WhatsApp for business communication. He also added that the US directive not to use WhatsApp was received by the UN in June last year.
