Qualcomm has announced support in upcoming chipsets for the Indian regional navigation system IRNSS, later called Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC), providing accurate location information to users in India, as well as in regions located up to 1500 km from it borders.
NavIC support will be available on select Qualcomm chipset platforms starting in late 2019, and commercial devices based on Qualcomm chips with Indian Regional Navigation System support will be available in the first half of 2020.
NavIC support in Qualcomm chipsets will enhance geolocation capabilities in mobile, automotive and IoT applications in India.
