The number of extensions for Microsoft Edge has exceeded 1000

A few months ago, the number of extensions for the new Microsoft Edge was 162. Now, the number amounted to about 1200. And although this is not much compared to those for Chrome and Firefox, the fact itself is respectable. However, the "blue" browser also supports Chrome extensions, so there shouldn't be any particular problems.

The number of extensions for Microsoft Edge has exceeded 1000

Note that when an early version of the browser was released to the public, only some developers could create extensions for it. In December last year, Microsoft announced that it would allow all developers to create extensions, and since then, the number of extensions in Edge has been constantly growing.

Among the most popular plugins are ad blockers, grammar checkers, modules for YouTube, Reddit, and many others. Also noteworthy are the various modules for changing wallpapers on the browser's home page.

Note that Redmond is actively developing its new web browser. Recently there showed up built-in mini-game designed to have fun if the Internet is turned off.

Also in the browser appeared system of protection against unwanted downloads. Those files that the Microsoft Defender SmartScreen module has identified as potentially dangerous will not be downloaded to the computer. This feature is available in Microsoft Edge 80.0.338.0 or later, but must be manually activated. Perhaps in the future it will be enabled by default.
