Codemasters has unveiled a new DiRT 5 racing game mode called Playgrounds. In it, gamers can create, share and race in custom arenas.
In the Playgrounds, players will be able to create tracks for any taste thanks to a large selection of elements, from drift zones and jumps to fire rings and dead loops. Each arena can be designed for one of three types of races: Smash Attack (find and collect the right objects as quickly as possible), Gate Crasher (pass checkpoints at maximum speed) and Gymkhana (arenas with jumps, turnarounds and more).
The tools of the mode will allow you to create tracks not only in the horizontal plane, but also roads that rush into the sky. For example, in arenas like Gymkhana, it will be possible to make a section in the form of a floating island, which can only be reached by accelerating well. Of course, any car from DiRT 5 will also be available in the Playgrounds, including extreme off-road vehicles, modern rally cars and sprint cars.
DiRT 5 will release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 16th. Before the end of the year, the game will also go on sale on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. A version for the Google Stadia cloud service will appear in early 2021.
