Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment unveiled the first gameplay footage of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at EA Play 2019.
The single-player action game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order takes place between the Star Wars prequels and the original trilogy. Protagonist Cal Kestis, played by actor Cameron Monaghan, is one of several Padawans who survived the famous Order 66 (according to which the Empire wiped out most of the Jedi at the end of the Clone Wars).
Kestis is on the run and must contend with stormtroopers, inquisitors, and the new Purge Troopers. Fallen Order is the first game in the Star Wars universe from Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment. Creator Stig Asmussen is directing the project.
In a 15-minute demo shown on EA Play, Cal works with radical resistance fighter Saw Gerrera (you may have seen him in Rogue One A Star Wars Story and Star Wars Rebels) on the planet Kashyyyk. The heroes are trying to free the Wookiees from the Imperial occupation. As Cal defeats his enemies, he earns skill points that you will use to upgrade the Jedi's abilities.
Cal can use his BD-1 droid buddy to overcome various obstacles. The droid is also capable of healing the hero. During a short Q&A session, Respawn Entertainment founder and CEO Vince Zampella said that the game is the purest "Jedi story" and will not have the choice between light and dark side as in past Star Wars titles. .
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launches November 15 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
