Recently the Polish edition of PolskiGamedev.pl an article that talked about the difficulties in developing the role-playing action Dying Light 2. However, Techland lead game designer Tymon Smektala (Tymon Smektala) in an interview mentioned that this information contained many inaccuracies, and the creation of the project was going according to plan. Moreover, the release date of Dying Light 2 may soon be revealed.
Earlier this year, Techland revised the development of Dying Light 2, and since then it has progressed according to an internal schedule. And the vertical slice of the game was ready four years ago. So Smektala denied the information of PolskiGamedev.pl about some stages of the project development. However, he confirmed that some elements changed during the production process, which is natural and dictated by factors such as optimization, improvement and expansion of components.
When asked about a release date for Smektala, the game designer said that Dying Light 2 is currently in its final stages of development. βTechland has a whole team working on the announcement of the game's release date and every piece of information that goes with it, and I know they want to surprise players, so I won't spoil the surprise for her or our community,β he added.
