Motorola Razr debuts with 6,2″ Flex View display, eSIM support and $1500 price tag

So, it's done. The new generation Motorola Razr smartphone is officially presented, rumors about which went on the World Wide Web throughout the year.

The device is made in a folding stainless steel case. A key feature of the novelty is the flexible internal Flex View display, which folds out 180 degrees. This screen measures 6,2 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 2142 × 876 pixels. It is claimed that the panel and the special mechanism in the central part are able to withstand 100 folding / unfolding cycles for three years.

On the outside of the lid is a secondary Quick View screen with a diagonal of 2,7 inches and a resolution of 800 × 600 pixels. It displays notifications, useful information, etc. Through this display, you can control music playback and use the Google Pay payment service.

It should be noted that the design provides for a fairly wide "chin" in the lower part of the body. There is a fingerprint scanner for user identification.

The smartphone is equipped with a 16-megapixel main camera with dual LED flash, electronic image stabilization and laser autofocus. In addition, there is an auxiliary camera based on a 5-megapixel sensor.

The “heart” of the device is the Snapdragon 710 processor. It combines eight 64-bit Kryo 360 computing cores with a clock speed of up to 2,2 GHz and an Adreno 616 graphics accelerator. There is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine.

The novelty carries on board 6 GB of LPPDDR4x RAM, a 128 GB flash drive, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2,4 / 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 5 wireless adapters, a GPS / GLONASS receiver and four microphones. It is important to note that an NFC module is provided for making contactless payments. There is a USB 3.0 Type-C port.

The smartphone measures 72×172×6,9mm when unfolded and 72×94×14mm when folded. The weight is 205 g. The battery with a capacity of 2510 mAh is responsible for power supply with support for fast 15-watt recharging TurboPower.

The operating system Android 9.0 (Pie) is used as a software platform. The device uses eSIM technology - an embedded SIM card (there is no slot for a physical SIM card).

The flexible Motorola Razr will go on sale only on January 9th. It will be possible to buy the device for $1500 in a single color version - black Noir Black.
