Apple has officially unveiled the all-new MacBook Pro portable computer, a model equipped with a high-quality 16-inch Retina display.
The screen has a resolution of 3072 × 1920 pixels. Pixel density reaches 226 PPI - dots per inch. The developer emphasizes that each panel is individually calibrated at the factory, so white balance, gamma and primary colors are transmitted with amazing accuracy.
The laptop is equipped with a new Magic Keyboard. An advanced scissor mechanism with 1mm key travel provides increased stability, while a specially designed rubber dome structure inside each key provides improved responsiveness. Additionally, the Magic Keyboard has a physical Escape button, Touch Bar, and Touch ID sensor, and the arrow keys are arranged in an inverted "T" shape.
Another feature of the laptop is an improved cooling system. The oversized fan features a complex design with longer blades and wider vents. Thanks to this, air flow increased by 28%. The radiator size has increased by 35%, so the cooling system works even more efficiently.
Depending on the configuration, the laptop carries a ninth-generation Intel Core processor with six or eight processing cores. The graphics subsystem includes a discrete AMD Radeon Pro 5300M or 5500M accelerator; GDDR6 memory capacity reaches 8 GB. Apple says that in the top configuration, video performance has increased by 80% compared to the previous generation model.
Up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM can be installed. SSD capacity in basic versions is 512 GB or 1 TB. The maximum configuration provides for an SSD with a capacity of 8 TB.
Power is supplied by a 100 Wh battery with the highest capacity of any Mac notebook. It gives MacBook Pro up to an hour more battery life—up to 11 hours when connected wirelessly to the Internet or while watching videos in the Apple TV app.
A completely new six-speaker Hi-Fi audio system has been used. The new Apple-patented resonance-cancelling woofers use two opposing drivers. They reduce unwanted vibrations that can cause sound distortion. The result is music that sounds much clearer and more natural than before.
The new MacBook Pro laptop is already available for pre-order at a price starting from 199 rubles. In the US, a laptop can be purchased at a price starting from $990 for the basic model, and a new product with the maximum configuration will cost $2400.
