Deepin developers have released a new version of their distribution. The main changes include improvements to the built-in AI agent, overall performance improvements, and bug and vulnerability fixes.

Key features of the release

Major UOS AI update. The text writing agent has been completely redesigned: it now supports plan-first generation and source tracing. A system mode has been added. Claw Mode, which allows automatic control of a computer using commands in natural language. Opened Skills Center, making AI a fully-fledged productivity tool.
Updating the kernel to 6.18. Memory and file system management logic has been rebuilt, significantly increasing read, write, and load speeds. A scheduler has been implemented. Recommended usage scenarios

This update focuses on expanding functionality and fixing bugs. A clean installation is recommended for the following users:

Users who are installing Deepin 25 on new devices for the first time and want to get the latest features and all the latest security patches right away;
Deepin 25 users who haven't updated their system in a while or want to try out new AI features and quickly upgrade to the latest release using a new image.

If the current system is working normally and has been updated regularly, you can upgrade to version 25.1.0 without reinstalling it - via the path Control Center → System Update.

Comprehensive development of UOS AI capabilities

1. The AI writing assistant has been completely redesigned.

Deep data feeding and generation through the plan. Local reference materials can be loaded. The AI first generates a logical text structure, after which the user can manually adjust the outline before generating the main content. This should eliminate the "black box" effect when creating texts.
Built-in editor and export to several formats. The generated text can be edited directly in the AI interface and then exported to PDF, Word or Markdown with one click.
Linking to trusted sources. All key arguments are provided with source indications, and data origin verification is available with one click.
Privacy protection. Generation is supported on local or private devices. When internet search is disabled, all data remains on the device.

2. Claw Mode is launched

Control your PC with one phrase. AI can automatically perform system tasks—opening applications, changing settings, and batch processing files—based on natural language commands.
Deep integration with IM services. At the interface level, integration with popular applications such as lark, dingtalk и QQOnce authorized, the AI can perform complex cross-platform operations on behalf of the user, including information gathering and document summarization.
Skills Center is open. The system comes with a set of pre-installed skills, supports import and creation of custom skills in one click and is compatible with the ecosystem OpenClaw, which allows for unlimited expansion of AI capabilities.

3. AI Sidebar and Intelligent Task Routing

Cross-Application Floating Tool. Users can select text in any program, web page, or PDF and access the AI sidebar for translation, summarization, clarification, and other operations.
Intelligent distribution by models. Models are integrated by default DeepSeek 3.2 и GLM 4.7; the system dynamically selects the optimal model depending on the complexity of the task, balancing between speed and depth of processing.

Optimizing DDE and file handling

1. Desktop Environment (DDE)

The taskbar now supports split-screen display of app icons when multiple windows of the same program are open. This feature can be enabled in Control Center.
Mouse pointer size settings have been added to Control Center.
Fixed anomalies in the extended desktop mode on multiple monitors: now cases where the item Multiple Displays did not disappear immediately after disconnecting the external monitor, the wallpaper was not displayed on the second screen, or the system did not allow you to go to the lock screen.

2. File manager

Tab pinning is supported via the context menu, allowing you to keep important directories at hand at all times. Drag-and-drop between windows is also supported.

Application and component updates

Mail: Added a function for printing letters; fixed the problem with duplicating messages marked with an asterisk when working with the protocol POP3.
Multimedia (Cinema/Music): Stuttering, noise, and increased CPU usage when playing via Bluetooth headsets in the profile have been eliminated A2DP.
App Store:
- Fixed boot crashes in environments with IPv6 and partial installation errors of some applications;

1. Kernel fixes and vulnerability fixes

A number of security vulnerabilities in the kernel have been fixed, which should improve the overall security of the system.
A fresh cumulative security update package has been integrated, covering several CVE in system components.

2. System updates and optimization

Fixed issues where a fully occupied partition BOOT prevented updates and fixed slow update checks in Control Center.

Known issues that remain to be resolved

The developers claim to be aware of several issues in the current version that do not interfere with normal operation and are already being addressed:

when you first log in with a new account on laptops with HiDPI The zoom factor is not displayed fully responsively: the interface shows 100%, while the actual default value is 125%; after logging in, the state returns to normal;
In Control Center, the current first-level menu item continues to display a blue focus frame when navigating the first-level menu or working on the right side of the interface;
