Speaking to Eurogamer, executive producer David Nisshagen said he didn't want to put too much pressure on the Minecraft Dungeons team, so it was decided to push back the release a bit. In addition, the developer is not sure that by releasing the project in the originally planned window, Mojang will be able to guarantee the quality of the game, which one could be proud of.

"We don't want to stress the teams at this time," Nisshagen said. “Maybe we could release the game on the previously announced date, but that would probably be inconvenient – partly for the team, but also for the players, who we couldn’t guarantee that they would get a good, fun game. Therefore, by spending a little more time on it, we will get a better end product and a happier team that can be proud of the work done.”
