Last Thursday took place day of open doors in the Zelenograd company "Telesystems". Habralyudam and simply interested readers from Habr showed production , video recorders and SMS guard systems, and also had an excursion to the holy of holies of the company - the development and innovation department.

The Telesystems office is located not so close, getting from the River Station on two buses is another adventure, so my friend and I, who specially came to Habraday in Telesystems from St. Petersburg, were even a little late. At the checkpoint of the office center, where the Soviet-style janitor was slowly filling out
documents, we ran into the same guests from Habr and already went up to the Telesystems office together.

The tour began with the production, assembly and packaging departments - they are located together under one roof in a large hall.

Some visitors were very businesslike and asked specific questions about production, suppliers, and were interested in relations with other companies. Then they left before everyone else, apparently, having received all the information of interest 🙂
Bloggers' questions were more diverse - they were interested in literally everything. Personally, I asked why Telesystems did not want to expand production, remaining in the niche of almost manual, piece production. In response, I heard a comparison with a Ferrari - from which, as I understand it, it follows that this niche completely suits them. It is understandable - they have the same voice recorders .
Development
The development department turned out to be a small room compared to the production hall, ten people maximum - an ordinary office in general, if you don’t know that they are developing products that even NASA uses. But more on that below.
Every week they announce a new product - it can be either a completely new development or
an update to an already released one.

Unlike large companies, there is no large and strong marketing department here that dictates what and how to do, therefore Telesystems is primarily a company of engineers, not managers.
Coffee
As promised, after the tour we moved on to coffee and cookies - this was already a purely “blogging” part, informal communication about everything.
We even started a small discussion about how to design equipment from Zelenograd at the Apple level:

- a DVR is essentially a video camera, only with a broader specialization - it can not only record video, but also work as part of a security system, etc. It can be configured - for continuous recording or triggered by movement. Thanks to buffer recording, can record the history of the event - and when triggered, for example, by a motion sensor that turns it on, you can see not only the record from the moment of the alarm, but also the previous few minutes.
A very popular thing among motorists - it is used as an owl-shaped "black box" in case, for example, an accident and subsequent showdowns with the insurance and traffic police. There is a model with four slots for memory cards with a total capacity of 128 gigabytes.
By the way, it is the "Moors" that NASA uses in its space programs - they were satisfied with the ratio of weight and duration and quality of the recording. And with their help, the Colombian police catch drug lords in their country.
As it turned out, miniature voice recorders and video recorders are also very well known in our special services. Moreover, the “internal bodies” are interested in the activities of Telesystems not only from the point of view of acquiring their products. But with all the permissions, everything is OK with the company: of course, the same special services also have more miniature recording devices at their disposal, but there are no complaints about the civilian products of Telesystems. Moreover, the Edic voice recorder can be used in court thanks to a system of special digital marks that make it impossible to change the recording imperceptibly - which also has the appropriate permission 🙂
Organizational
Still, Zelenograd is not the best place to meet with bloggers, unless you organize a shuttle from the metro for them. Therefore, the next such events will be held in Moscow.

In fact, this is far from everything that we wanted and could tell about the products of Zelenograd craftsmen. For example, behind the scenes there is a separate large area of the company's work - decorative lamps, and there is also something to show and talk about. And we will definitely do it.
