Ninth ALT p10 starter pack update

The ninth release of starter kits on the Tenth ALT platform has been published. Builds based on the stable repository are for advanced users. Most starter kits are live builds that differ in the graphical desktop environments and window managers (DE/WM) available for ALT operating systems. If necessary, the system can be installed from these live builds. The next scheduled update is scheduled for September 12, 2023.

Starter kits are available for the x86_64, i586 and aarch64 architectures. The builds are based on Linux kernels version 5.10.179 and 6.1.32; in some images, various options are used. For different architectures, kernel build options are also listed separately.

Changes in the ninth release:

  • A new version of the plymouth graphical boot screen, which now starts the animation when the serial console is active (ignoring the serial console is enabled) and activates the fallback logo when the manufacturer's logo is unavailable (BGRT - Boot Graphics Record Table).
  • Suspended release of Engineering and linuxcnc-rt images. Previous versions are available from the archive. The release will resume on p11.
  • Stopped building rootfs with rpi kernel as un-def-6.1 kernel fully supports Raspberry Pi 4.
