Samsung has announced the upcoming expansion of the capabilities of its payment platform. We are talking about the Samsung Pay service, which has been operating in Russia since September 2016.
Recall that Samsung Pay allows you to pay for purchases and services through a smartphone or smart watch. In addition to NFC, the service supports Samsung's proprietary MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) technology. Thanks to this, the service is compatible not only with NFC payment devices, but also with payment terminals that accept magnetic stripe bank cards. In other words, the system works almost everywhere where it is possible to pay with ordinary plastic cards.
Samsung is now reportedly announcing a debit card for its payment platform this summer. The partner in this project will be the SoFi company, which provides services in the financial sector.
So far, there are few details about the new initiative. Samsung says only that the solution will be an innovative product. To manage money, users will be able to register a personal account.
